DE ROSSI IN?

The manager of Manchester United, David Moyes, has admitted that Daniele De Rossi was one of the midfielders who were on his radar during the summer.

De Rossi hasn’t played for any club other than Roma in his career so far. He has been a part of Roma since the last 13 years and he is still fully committed to them.

A few days ago, in one of his interviews, when he was asked about the Manchester United interest, he had said that joining Manchester United would be equivalent to committing suicide as they are not even in top 5 in the Premier League table at the moment, while, his current club Roma is at no. 2 in the Italian top flight.

When Moyes was asked if he was really interested in landing De Rossi at Old Trafford, he said, “Yes, we had thought about him, but, we didn’t go on and place the bid because of some issue.”

The Red Devils boss also made it clear that no signings would be made by him during the mid season transfer window.

When asked if he is looking to sign somebody in January, Moyes said, “No, We don’t have anybody on our radar for January. It’s in the summer that the signing activities would be taking place.”

This statement of Moyes would certainly not be liked by too many Manchester United fans. They want new, impact players to be brought in so that their team bounces back and manages to earn even a Champions League spot. But, it doesn’t seem that their wish is going to be granted.

On the basis of current form, United is certainly not looking like retaining its Premier League crown. They will have to play really well in the second half of the season to be able to finish as one of the top 4 teams in the league table.
