BACK ON TRACK

Chelsea’s pursuit of Champions League football for next season got back on track with a narrow victory over West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge.

Demba Ba’s first half strike was enough to secure all three points for the Blues, who remain in fourth position after Tottenham Hotspur’s win over North London rivals Arsenal.

Despite the result, some home fans continued to show jeer interim manager Rafael Benitez, following his press conference last week where he reacted to the lack of respect he has been shown by a number of supporters.

However, the Spaniard insisted that he was pleased with the atmosphere inside the stadium, labelling the whole display as “very positive”.

The club will now turn their attention to Thursday evenings Europa League last sixteen first leg at Steaua Bucharest, before their FA Cup Quarter Final at Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Elsewhere, the Daily Star have reported that Juventus boss Antonio Conte could become Cheslea manager in the summer.

Conte, who is on course to secure a second successive Serie A title with the Old Lady, is also thought to be a target for Real Madrid should they part company with Jose Mourinho, who remains favourite to make a return to SW6.
