Oh, you thought I meant personally? Wink

The Mayor in the Council-Manager form of government is a fully participating member of the city council. He or she presides at all council meetings and serves as the chair of the city council. He has a vote on the council the same as the other 6 members do and does not have a veto as Mayors do in the Council-Mayor form of government. When the council votes to approve a resolution or contract, the Mayor is the one authorized to sign it on behalf of the city. The Mayor also performs ceremonial functions by performing at ribbon-cuttings, representing the City on certain boards and councils, and has the authority to perform marriages in the city.

The council also elects a Mayor-pro-tem at the beginning of each year who serves in place of the Mayor in the event that he cannot attend or is in some way incapacitated. The Mayor serves a 4 year term and runs for re-election at the same time the two at-large council members run for office.
